Georgia College & State University's Chapter
I had the privilege of serving as the President for Georgia College's chapter of GAE. It was an absolute honor to be elected and I am so thankful for the opportunities that it has granted me. During the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to attend the conference for the National Education Association in Boston, Massachusetts. I was able to meet many other aspiring, current, and retired educators. During this conference, I attended sessions that discussed topics that will not only benefit me as a student as I continue my education in the field of Early Childhood Education, but also those which will enhance my experiences within the classroom. I am eager to share the knowledge obtained during this time, not only with the members of the GCSU chapter of Georgia's Association of Educators, but also with those pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in a community outreach project that hoped to enrich the lives of some of Boston's elementary school students. It was an incredible opportunity and I am forever grateful for that opportunity to represent the Georgia Association of Educators at Georgia College
Scholastic Book Fair Fundraiser
We are focusing on raising funds for the chapter and to do this, we invited Scholastic to host a book fair at Georgia College. Through this experience, we were able to offer the opportunity for other education majors to build their classroom libraries, while increasing GAE's finances. As a result, we will be able to host more events and continue expanding the chapter in hopes of creating a community for the education majors at Georgia College.
